Homemade bagels

When I go off my self imposed bread moratorium (it's one of those post new years weight loss things) I think I'm going to try out this bagel recipe. It looks to be one of those things where the enormeous effort required makes up half the taste of the finished product.

Textism claims to improve on the recipe.

If I didn't know any better, I would guess this was an attempt to improve your pagerank for searches related to the Bagle worm (for people, who misspelt it).. ?

haha - nice one.

I lived for a (short) while in Canada and the only available reasonably tasting bread product was bagels. Furthermore I shared an apartment with this guy from Texas who had an almost religious connection with bagels - particularly those available from legendary NYC bagelers H&H bagels : http://www.foodlocker.com/hhbagels.html
