OQO Vaporware PC has a video

The OQO, super compact full function portable computer, a vaporware perennial, has had a site update. The old "Will be available in 2002" line is now a "Will be available falll 2004", and there's a snazzy video that looks like a "Mission Impossible 3" promo, complete with motorcycles and 60's nostalgia - in this case the nostalgia of old bulky computers.

Albeit vaporware, it looks supersnazzy, and I want one! :)

They don't even show a working prototype in their promotional video. Who are the clowns that are keeping this company around, and more importantly, who are the clowns that keep reporting on it like it was a real product?

Cab, I clearly mark it as vaporware, so in two words: Fuck off.

Who is this clown "Dee" who mistakenly thought I was calling him a clown, when I was clearly referencing the legitimate news sites that DO NOT clearly mark it as vaporware, as well as the other clowns that keep investing? Clowns, clowns, everywhere clowns.

Let's see Cab, I think it is fair to sat that you were not "clearly referencing the legitimate news sites that DO NOT clearly mark it as vaporware": I don't reference any newssites here, so I could not possibly confuse your complaint as anything but a remark on this very blog post.
Don't repeat your overstated, misguided gripes. Just take your inability to read elsewhere.

Oh, whoops, did I just repeat my overstated, misguided gripes?

You're both sooo ignorant. It is real product that is in market testing phase, just google instead of you both whining like spoiled little babies.

Ah, the joys of an open comment system. We're told to just trust the intelligence of the open conversation but some people make it really, really hard. Cab, if I thought you appreciated irony I would say "Gee, that's real funny". Jackass.

Jules, this HAS been vaporware for years - although I welcome any news that it's actually ready.

Re-read my first post, Warnock.

I didn't call you a clown, I pondered who were the clowns that reported it as ready to ship, and who keep pumping money into the company. I thought it was clear that I was commenting on everyone who reported it WITHOUT mentioning "vaporware", which you clearly mention.

I would have to be fairly oblivious or stupid or both to not notice that you used "vaporware" in your original post.

I was also pointing out that their promotional video did not even bother pretending that it was working.

Though I would have originaly gladly appologized to you for the misunderstanding on clown-assignment, your multi-word two word response turned me from appologetic (for making you feel clowned) to annoyed/ammused at your response.

Thus, you unfortunately clowned yourself.

Feel free to misinterprate and or insult me further, your bitterness and anger have soured me to your blog and I wander off now...

(perhaps to buy an OQO in the fall)

Your first useful comment. A moment to be remembered I'm sure - but thanks for it

As to clear. It wasn't to me anyway. I think I'm entirely justified in thinking you said clown to me as you ask about clowns reporting on it and I was in fact reporting on it. If you were thinking "present company excepted", then why not just say so.
As to stupid. Excuse me for thinking so - but you wouldn't exactly have been the first poster on the internet (or in the comments to this blog) with that quality
As to clowned. Some actual information in your comments would have been nice and led me off the "He's just a flamer" thinking.
Wander at will. If you turn out to be a reasonable person, then I'm certainly sorry I offended you.

This is not a discusson about the OQO computer system??? It was Google's top result! Google needs to be fixed.

Google isn't broken.
What did you ask for - I consistently get nothing but oqo related materials when I google for "oqo". I get a lot of hits for searches on "oqo vaporware" though.
